Bird Series
My work explores the intersection of texture, shape, and line to convey depth and complexity in abstract painting. Through layered compositions, I use mark-making tools to create dynamic backgrounds that pulse with energy, forming a foundation of textured layers. Each mark is a record of movement, a rhythm that brings the canvas to life with scratches, lines, and organic shapes that are both spontaneous and intentional.
In the foreground, imagery emerges but remains partially obscured, integrating with the background rather than dominating it. This interplay between visible and hidden elements invites viewers to engage closely, finding their own interpretations within the ambiguity. I am fascinated by the idea that not everything is fully revealed, as if each painting holds a quiet mystery that’s only partly accessible.
The tactile nature of layered textures encourages a physical connection, compelling viewers to not just see but feel the depth within each piece. Through this work, I aim to create a meditative experience, inviting an introspective journey where form and formlessness coexist. My intention is to push the boundaries of perception, asking viewers to immerse themselves in the tension between order and chaos, visibility and obscurity.
